Late Week Pickups: Round 16

Each week we’ll be taking a look at some late week pickup options so that you can get a win over your league mates. With these late week pickup’s, they’re all based on players who you wouldn’t necessarily play week to week, but have a great round matchup against the team they’re playing.

When we talk about these late week pickup’s we use a rule of 65% ownership or less on ultimate footy, just to give everyone a fair go at adding these players to your list. Also, these players are based off 22 man squads in SuperCoach and 26 for Ultimate Footy, so if you are in a league that has less than this then there will be better talent in the pool.

Jack Redpath: Owned in just 27% of teams Jack is the last tall forward standing with both Tom Boyd and Travis Cloke taking time away from the game to deal with mental health issues. Also add to the fact that Tom Campbell has gone down with injury, that’s going to leave Roughead to ruck most of the game with Big Red pinch hitting.

Jack has a great pair of hands and is a pretty good shot on goal. Look to add to your forward line.

Clay Smith: Returning from injury, the Dogs are going into Friday night’s game with guys who can apply pressure. Clay is one of those guys. Owned by 28% of teams, Clay’s main strength is his tackles. With himself, Wallis and even Libba playing forward, it will be game on to see who can lay the most tackles for the game.

Matt White: Back in the team, the pacey mid/fwd will enjoy playing on Domain stadium. Owned by 46% of teams, Matt has made the most of his opportunity. With a 2:1 kick to handball ratio is what’s making a very nice F5 position this week. Look for Port to use there pace to beat the Eagles.

Alex Fasolo: Alex has been in good form the last 2 weeks scoring nicely. If there is one thing about Essendon is that opposition small forwards can kick goals against them when we saw this on the ANZAC day game where Elliot kicked 3 and Fasolo himself kicked 1 goal 3 behinds.

Jonathon Patton: 8 goals, 19 marks and the GWS are playing Hawthorn this week. Only in 53% of teams, Patton is a perfect stream option this week. Likely to keep his good form going, especially against a leaky Hawks defence. Grab him while you can!

Good luck in your matchups this week!
