Late Week Pickups: Round 18

Each week we’ll be taking a look at some late week pickup options so that you can get a win over your league mates. With these late week pickup’s, they’re all based on players who you wouldn’t necessarily play week to week, but have a great round matchup against the team they’re playing.

When we talk about these late week pickup’s we use a rule of 65% ownership or less on ultimate footy, just to give everyone a fair go at adding these players to your list. Also, these players are based off 22 man squads in SuperCoach and 26 for Ultimate Footy, so if you are in a league that has less than this then there will be better talent in the pool.

Aaron Mullet: How is this guy still only in 57% of teams? You have heard us continually speaking about Mullet on the show and is someone you really should pick up, even to keep them out of the oppositions teams.

Playing MacMillan’s role now that he is out for the rest of the season, we have seen Mullets scores increase dramatically and will continue to score well.

Bailey Dale: A mid/fwd, Dale has been used as transition player since coming into the team. Owned by only 38% of teams and spending around the 80% time on ground, he builds his scores through score involvements, rebound and inside 50’s as well as possessions and goals.

A handy pick up with some plus matchups to come, especially if you’re about to begin your league finals.

Drew Petrie: With Lycett going down with injury again, big Drew gets to slot into that pinch hitting ruck role again. Add to the fact they are playing Collingwood this week and as we know streaming forwards against the Pies is a win. Owned in 60% of teams.

Luke Breust: Talk about your plus matchup games. Breust averages 104 in SuperCoach against the Dockers and 80 in DreamTeam. Owned in 62% and the Hawks playing some quality footy of late, grab Breust as the numbers show he goes big against the Dockers and it could be the difference to making or missing the finals.

Marco Paparone: At the time of writing this article Marco is still named on the extended bench, so we’ll have to wait and see if he makes the final team. But if named he has proven to be a handy scorer, especially with the lack of quality defenders out there at the moment. Only in 23% of teams.

Good luck in your matchups this week
