EACH WEEK I’ll be bringing you my thoughts on which players to BUY, SELL, HOLD, ADD and DROP in AFL Draft Leagues.  The moves are based on a 10 team redraft league with 22 players per team, so if your league is shallower, deeper or keeper, use your best judgement as to what moves apply.  Remember no-one HAS to trade with you, but the least you can do is make offers to try improve your team.  Also consider your league set up and team structure before making a move.  This is a list about value and treating your team as something that is constantly evolving to try get it as solid as it can be.  As I always say, “if you ain’t trading, you ain’t trying!”  You can hear the rest of my thoughts each week as part of the Draft Doctors Podcast released each Monday.

If you missed last week’s column, I’ll be brief but given most leagues are about to hit or have hit fantasy finals, your trade deadline has probably passed, so I’ll be focusing on add/drops from here out.  If you DO have a trade question, feel free to hit me up on Twitter or Facebook via the usual accounts.  Of course, without the trades, there’s a few less moves, I’m sure you’ll live:)
I know the free agency pools are getting thin, but there’s some great options to help you in your matchups as always.  We’ve started seeing league titles roll in and we’re stoked!  We love seeing you guys win, it makes it all worth it.  And these are your titles.  We love talking players and options and moves, but at the end of the day, it’s your team and you’re making the decisions.  Anyways, on to the deals….

ADD – DAN CURRIE ( R ) – If you need a ruck, expect Currie to be the one the Suns call up, although there’s a chance they go with Brooksby, both have been good but Currie the main ruck in the NEAFL.  Playing against Sean Darcy and potentially Stef Martin the week after doesn’t make for the most dominant ruck opponents.  Owned in 11% of UF leagues, he’s there if you’re in dire straits.

ADD – BEN BROWN (F) – Playing Collingwood, the Coleman medal hopeful is the only show in town in the North Melbourne forward line with Jarrad Waite and Mason Wood out.  I expect North to pepper him with forward 50 entries and on the quick deck at Etihad, that should spell fantasy points.  Key forwards are traditionally boom/bust, but Brown’s last 6 weeks have been pretty hot, if not consistent.  Owned in 63% of UF leagues, try scoop him up.

ADD – RYAN BASTINAC (M) – Consistent in role if nothing else, Bastinac is owned in 63% of UF leagues, making him one of the better available mids, although please do scour your free agent pool for better options.

ADD – JACOB HOPPER (M/F) – Talented and has just returned to NEAFL where he was effective.  Stevie J is washed and if Leon Cameron recognises it, Hopper will be in the team soon.  Lowly owned and with upside in a weak forward pool, Hopper is worth stashing if you have space.

ADD – LEVI CASBOULT (F/R) – More of a play like Petrie, he could be the only ruck in town, which, if he’s around the ball could equal points.  Kreuzer may not come up, Gorringe sustained and injury in the VFL, leaving Matt Korchek as the only ruck.  I wonder if with McKay and Curnow in the team and playing well, if Carlton don’t have a look at what their future forwards look like together?  Casboult has been great in front of goal this year, but it’s a question worth asking.  Is only forward eligible in some leagues, owned in only 46% on UF.

ADD – DREW PETRIE (F) – I mean, if Vardy comes in, probably don’t worry about it, but sole rucking got Petrie the ton last week and has an ok matchup against the ostensibly ordinary St Kilda ruck division.  West Coast aren’t such a shambles under the lid at Etihad, so he’s worth an add.  Only 65% owned on UF.

And everybody’s favourite…………..

ADD – AARON MULLETT (D) – For the seventy fifth week in a row, I’d be remiss not to mention the North defender.  Crappy conditions led to a crappy score last week, but North play Collingwood this week who tend to leak pretty good scores to defenders.  Did I mention only 63% owned?  Giddy up.

Thanks for reading as always and best of luck in your matchups! Get them titles!
