Late Week Pickups: Round 20
Each week we’ll be taking a look at some late week pickup options so that you can get a win over your league mates. With these late week pickup’s, they’re all based on players who you wouldn’t necessarily play week to week, but have a great round matchup against the team they’re playing.
When we talk about these late week pickup’s we use a rule of 65% ownership or less on ultimate footy, just to give everyone a fair go at adding these players to your list. Also, these players are based off 22 man squads in SuperCoach and 26 for Ultimate Footy, so if you are in a league that has less than this then there will be better talent in the pool.
Matt Rosa: A proven scorer in the past, Rosa has put some really good scores together in the last 3 weeks, especially in SuperCoach where his last three round average is 91. At 54% ownership and you’re in an elimination final, look to grab Rosa. He has a great average against the Dockers, where he averages 91 in SuperCoach and 90 in Dream Team.
Jimmy Webster: If you need a solid scoring defender then look no further than Jimmy. In 50% of teams you know what you’re going to get with this guy and that’s mid 70’s with the odd 90+ thrown in every 2nd or 3rd week. While not the most high-profile guy on the Saints list, he gets a decent amount of possession, gets the rebound 50’s and takes marks.
Ryan Lester: Most of you like me have thought who the hell is Ryan Lester? Well he is the guy on the Brisbane list who is having a career year in terms of fantasy scoring. Averaging 81 in SuperCoach and 73 in Dream Team, this forward who is in 61% of teams is putting up good numbers most week. In a team which is getting beaten most weeks, Ryan is gets his hands on the ball and takes a lot of marks. With good disposal efficiency and up against the Dogs this week who tend to give up points, don’t hesitate to put him on your field.
Adam Saad: After a slow start to the year for Adam, he is putting together some valuable fantasy scores. In just 24% of teams, this is more of a SuperCoach relevant pick up where Saad averages 83 but only 63 in Dream Team. Saad should enjoy the big ground of Domain stadium where they are taking on the Dockers.
Tom Langdon: After coming off the long-term injury list, Tom has taken no time to produce great fantasy scores. Up against the Roo’s this week, It should be a pretty fantasy friendly for Langdon as he and the Pies defence pick off the loose entries that come inside 50.
Good luck in your matchup’s this week!!
