Late Week Pickups: Round 22

Each week we’ll be taking a look at some late week pickup options so that you can get a win over your league mates. With these late week pickup’s, they’re all based on players who you wouldn’t necessarily play week to week, but have a great round matchup against the team they’re playing.

When we talk about these late week pickup’s we use a rule of 65% ownership or less on ultimate footy, just to give everyone a fair go at adding these players to your list. Also, these players are based off 22 man squads in SuperCoach and 26 for Ultimate Footy, so if you are in a league that has less than this then there will be better talent in the pool.

Well the bottom of the barrel is well and truly being scraped. With fantasy finals in full swing there is not a lot on offer, but here at the Draft Doctors have found some players who just might win you that prelim or grand final.

Angus Brayshaw: Mentioned last week and he didn’t fail to deliver. With a score of 89 DreamTeam and 91 SuperCoach in his first game back, ‘Gus’ will be looking to build on that. In just 38% of teams and playing as that high half forward/wing position, Angus was the link in the chain for the Dees ball movement off half back going forward. The Dees are up against the Lions this week, who love to give up fantasy points. Look to be using ‘Gus’ as an F5.

Taylor Garner: The Roos are playing to avoid the wooden spoon. More of your DreamTeam scorer than SuperCoach, Garner has been putting up good scores the last month including a 129. In just 42% of teams and listed as a forward. Up against the Saints this week and with both teams out of finals contention, here’s hoping both teams go easy on the defending so we can see some high scoring and lots of fantasy points.

James Harmes: In 62% of teams and listed as a defender, Harmes was everywhere last week. Playing a mixture of forward and defence, Harmes kicked 3 goals but was also able to pick off marks from the Saints poor kicking. If Watts misses again, expect Harmes to play the same role and rack up the fantasy point.

Jake Kolodjashnij: In just 11% of teams and probably playing his best game for the Cats last week, Jake is up against the Pies this week and we all know how well defenders score against Collingwood. Jake has only played the Pies once, but scored 76 SuperCoach and 68 DreamTeam and that was in his first year of footy. Look to use as D5 or bench cover

Good luck in your matchup’s this week!!
