Late Week Pickups – Round 12
Each week I’ll be looking at players who are sitting in the free agency pool that can be used in your matchup that can give you a little extra scoring power. When using these players, I use Ultimate Footy’s ownership of 65% or less to give everyone a go for those that play in bigger leagues.
Anthony Miles: With Dusty not wanting to travel to Adelaide (I can’t blame him), The Tigers have brought in hard nut Anthony Miles. Miles is yet to play this year, having been consigned to depth player at the club.
In just 49% of teams and its looking like its going to be a little wet at the Adelaide oval tonight, the conditions will suit Miles. Miles last played Port Adelaide in 2016 where he scored 111 in Supercoach and 114 in AFL fantasy. Not bad for an inside mid. He has a career average of 87 in Supercoach and 88 in AFL Fantasy. With so much carnage this week, Miles will be a handy addition to your roster.
Mason Wood: The big bloke is up and about since coming into the team in round 7. Wood has got a great score build fantasy wise. He can get up on a wing to gather possessions or he can sit in the forward line taking marks and kicking goals.
In 49% of teams, the Roo’s are up against the Cats in which the Roo’s have a decent record against them in the last few years. We know the Cats have no ruckman so Goldy should be able to put it down the throats of his teammates pretty easily and get it to Big Wood.
Cameron Rayner: With so many injuries to the Lions last week, somebody was bound to get a boost. That somebody was Cam Rayner. Rayner ran through the middle finishing with 108 AFL fantasy points and 89 Supercoach.
In 45% of teams, Rayner and the Lions are up against Essendon who have been giving up fantasy points to the opposition like it was going out of fashion. Expect ‘Fages’ to continue to run him through the middle especially with Robinson out and Christensen still under effects of being knocked out last week.
