Late Week Pickups – Round 23
Each week I’ll be looking at players who are sitting in the free agency pool that can be used in your matchup that can give you a little extra scoring power. When using these players, I use Ultimate Footy’s ownership of 65% or less to give everyone a go for those that play in bigger leagues. It’s the grand final this week, so good luck in your matchups and we hope you bring home the trophy.
Robbie Tarrant: If you’re looking for a solid 80+ from a defender, look no further than Robbie Tarrant. With both teams out of contention for finals the teams could open up the shoulders and have a good old fashion shootout.
In just 50% of teams if the game is a shootout, we know St. Kilda going inside 50 is pretty poor, so Tarrant a big chance to get the intercept marks.
Bailey Williams: Back from injury this week and in 75% of teams I expect Williams to slot inside the defence and play the running half back similar to JJ.
Williams and the Dogs are up against the Tigers who as we know give up plenty of fantasy points whilst not scoring many themselves. Before Williams was injured he was spending time in the midfield. Whether that continues or not for the final game remains to be seen.
Heath Grundy: Back in the team this week in what could be a farewell game? In just 16% of teams Grundy has a pretty good record against the Hawks.
The last time the Hawks and Swans played Grundy scored 107 Supercoach and 93 AFL fantasy points. We have seen key defenders score well against the Hawks over the season and expect this to continue.
Geelong players: If the likes of a Parfitt, Henry or even Ryan Abbott are available, grab them as they will score well as the Cats will be looking to sure up their spot in the finals.
