Late Week Pickups- Round 15

Each week I’ll be looking at players who are sitting in the free agency pool that can be used in your matchup that can give you a little extra scoring power. When using these players, I use Ultimate Footy’s ownership of 65% or less to give everyone a go for those that play in bigger leagues.

We are back to 9 games a week this week and with we are now at the pointy end of the season with some leagues starting finals or just about to commence their finals campaigns. Good luck to all and bring home that title!

Pearce Hanley: Back in the team this week and with a nice ownership of 69%, Hanley has a good record against the Swans.

Hanley averages 97 Supercoach and 95 AFL Fantasy against the Swans and last time he played against them knocked out a 144 AFL Fantasy and 128 Supercoach score. While I don’t that will happen this time, its hard to argue against the numbers.

Michael Hibberd: The Dee’s are starting to get their defence together which means they don’t have to play as negative as they were earlier in the year.

Hibberd is in 46% of teams he averages 88 Supercoach and 86 AFL Fantasy against the Lions. With the tall guys coming back in, it frees up Hibberd to play off his opponent and play as the interceptor.

Jayden Short: A bit of a risky pick if he does get named, but its to hard to ignore. In 66% of teams not only would I be grabbing him just for this week but also for the remainder of the season.

Defenders have been good against the Saints this year and it should be no different this weekend. With the Saints fast ball movement, they get plenty of inside 50’s which means ample possessions for the opposition defenders.

Lastly pick up any available Fremantle player. With no Patrick Cripps this week it should be a bloodbath. Some Freo players worth looking at are Darcy Tucker at 52%. Someone who has never been drafted or used as a late week pickup is Brennan Cox 4%. With no Hogan, Taberner or McCarthy, Cox should be able to get a decent fantasy score this week.
