Welcome to the Draft Doctors Weekly DOSage! Recapping all the important stuff from the week of AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach draft.
Late Week Pickup
Lincoln McCarthy. Eligible in your forward lines, McCarthy has been spending some time in the midfield the past few weeks and is in hot form, averaging 94 AFL Fantasy and 97 SuperCoach points in his last 3 games. With the added mid-time and sizzling form — jump on and chuck him on the field this week against Power.
Trade of the Week
The player we think you should be targeting this week is Tom Hawkins.
Hawkins hasn’t been in great form in the past 3 rounds — only kicking 4 snags during that time while averaging just 48 AFL Fantasy and 49 SuperCoach points. But he’s got some forward friendly matchups on the run home and he could be a reasonable trade target. Particularly in your SuperCoach leagues, where he’s put up 6 solid tons in 2019.
Centre Bounce Attendance Watchlist
This week we’ll take a look at two forward-eligible players who have been spending some time in the midfield.
Toby McLean returned to some fantasy form in the Dogs round 16 matchup against the Cats, with 82 AFL Fantasy and 101 SuperCoach points. Some stints in the midfield aided his scoring as he attended 15% of centre bounces for the game. Keep a watchful eye on McLean this week, but be mindful of your trade deadlines! It might be your last chance to buy low in a keeper league… or perhaps sell a high before Libba comes back!
Another forward, Shai Bolton was gifted plenty of midfield time against the woeful Suns — replacing Dustin Martin as he spent much of the game back in his forward role after copping an early tag. But Bolton actually scored really well and looked good in the midfield, notching 116 AFL Fantasy and 122 SuperCoach points. I’m keeping a close eye on his role, I believe he’s a smokey ADD and a definite keeper stash option.
Good luck in your matchups this week!
