In Dozen Deals we use BUY, SELL, HOLD, ADD or DROP. With a view based on a 10 team 22 player roster, buy, sell, drop, and hold will apply to players that will generally be owned, while add will go for those you may find on the waiver wire.
Final lot of DPPs for AFL fantasy have come out. I heard an audible ‘eh’ as the page opened. Deledio becomes a forward. There ya go, saved some time. Preuss could be an option as a forward, but I’m not trusting Melbourne to get him the ball. Suckling is a nice boost to teams with low forward stocks, but he’s gotta be snatched up so that will only benefit coaches that already own him.
There is one good add from all this though. Who is it? You’ll have to keep reading and find out. Boom, clickbaited. I think I have a future with hooks like that. I even put James Rowbottom last so you’ll have to read the whole thing.
DROP – Alan Richardson
What? You guys don’t play in a league with coaches? Weird. The real question is how things will change for the players. Just keep Jacky Billings in the middle, 2019 interim coach #77. Time to make a few speculative St Kilda adds.
Looks like Brett Ratten is taking over, so someone must know who his favourites are. This late in the year may be a little late to swing wholesale change, but look out for new ins to the side as St Kilda have a half decent run home and the Dead Coach Bounce on their side.
DROP – Stephen Coniglio
Carnage continues. Coniglio has done his knee and won’t play for the rest of the season. Thankfully for Vic(bias) Clubs, it’s not an ACL, and he should suit up in the Navy blue or gold and brown next season.
HOLD – Scott Pendlebury
Pendles needs to stop flipping people off, apparently. The second time in two years he’s broken a middle finger, this time on the left hand. He missed the last 6 weeks of 2017 last time, however there were complications with surgery then.
Collingwood feel like he could possibly play this week, but keep an eye on the news to see how it heals. Taylor Adams feels like he could just be a straight swap if Pendles misses.
ADD – Tom Lynch, handsome
The tiger one, as the crow (good personality Tom Lynch) likely sits on someone’s bench costing them wins in a crucial part of the season (I’m not bitter… that bitter). His handsome pal is in good form and played decently against Port earlier in the year. A decent forward play this week, despite Ports stingy D.
ADD – Tom Barrass
Up against Melbourne this week, who love to bomb it into the forward 50. The forward 50 with a patchwork set up. Barrass is a SC scorer, so Fantasy and UF coaches may want to look elsewhere.
DROP – Michael Hurley
6-8 weeks. At least he’ll be back for the granny, right Bomber fans?
ADD – Martin Gleeson
Was looking great towards the end of last season before getting hurt. 3 games in and he’s settling nicely. With Hurley done, and some bigger bodies (Ambrose) likely to play key roles down back, Gleeson should be able to intercept mark and spoil to his heart’s content.
BUY – Dustin Martin
Assuming you haven’t passed your trade deadline, Dusty presents some serious value here. A down couple of weeks, paired with a slow start make him a tantalising prospect.
DROP – Josh J Kennedy
Most of you have, but I gotta vent. Picked him up as a 1 week flier, what’s the worst that could happen? Turns out he could score a 7. Then the team I play has Dunkley captain, and I lose by ~40. It’s too bad there’s only a ‘drop’ button, and not a ‘yeet into the sun’ one.
ADD – Hunter Clark
In good form and a new coach coming in. Take a shot and hope he gets rewarded. Chase the scores!
ADD – James Rowbottom
Okay, this one isn’t half bad for a forward pick up. He’s not racking up touches, but he tackles which can be a really nice bonus for forwards, keeping their scores decent when they’re not kicking goals or getting the ball. He’s getting a lot of midfield time now, too.
