Each week I’ll be looking at players who are sitting in the free agency pool that can be used in your matchup that can give you a little extra scoring power. When using these players, I use Ultimate Footy’s ownership of 65% or less to give everyone a go for those that play in bigger leagues.
If there is one thing, we like to do at The Draft Doctors, that is we like to double down. So, this week I am putting up Darcy Moore again as a pickup. His ownership has dropped to 33% only down the 1% from the week before but he is still scoring well enough he should be a D4 or D5. Again, Moore has a good matchup this week against the Hawks. Last week we saw the GWS defenders score well against the Hawks and it should be no different for the Magpies.
Moore’s record against the Hawks is good, scoring 83 and 103 SuperCoach and 90 and 86 AFL Fantasy in his last 2 games. Playing the interceptor role since Howe has gone down has given Moore a slight bump and with Howe to miss the rest of the season his scoring should continue for the rest of the season.
Marlion Pickett and Jack Graham are available and get ample opportunity with a host of injuries and players choosing to stay home and be with their families. Pickett is 53% of teams and Graham in 57%. I think Graham will get the first crack at the inside role left open by Prestia and Pickett will role through the midfield rotating with Lambert and Ross. Pickett has shown us he can score as we saw in the 2019 grand final. Although his start to 2020 has been slow, he surely cannot score as bad again if picked in the team.
Paul Ahern is in 22% of teams and returns to the North Melbourne team this week. Ahern has defender/midfield status so there is a chance he gets in the midfield to replace Cunnington or run off the half back to fill the hole left by Williams. Essendon have given up points to defenders. We saw Maynard go big last week and Docherty the week before. If this trend continues then we can expect Ahern to have a good score.
