Late Week Pickups – Round 14

Each week I’ll be looking at players who are sitting in the free agency pool that can be used in your matchup that can give you a little extra scoring power. When using these players, I use Ultimate Footy’s ownership of 65% or less to give everyone a go for those that play in bigger leagues.

Jeremy Finlayson: Back in the team this week after spending some time in the NEAFL, the Giants team as a whole should put Brisbane to the sword and win comfortably.

In 41% of teams, Finlayson has averaged 18 possessions, 4 marks and 1.3 tackles a game with an average of 65 in AFL Fantasy and 79 in Supercoach. Defenders overall have been good to play against the Lions and with Finlayson playing in the back line should be able to pick up the intercept marks and rebound.

Nick Holman: This bloke to continues to keep plugging away. In just 55% of teams, Holman and the Suns are up against the Hawks in Tassie this week. The Suns have knocked off the Hawks the last 2 times they have played so it will be an interesting game.

With Holman he has been building his score through tackles where he is averaging 6.5 a game, but his possession has increased due to the injuries to other Suns midfielders. I’m expecting Holman to score in the 80’s this week.

Marcus Adams: The big man is back for his first game of 2018 after finally recovering from the foot injury that has been plaguing him all year.  In 29% of teams the Bulldogs welcome back Adams after being decimated by injuries this year.

Adams is a good scorer in fantasy football averaging 79 in Supercoach and 73 in AFL Fantasy from his 10 games in 2017. His ability to take a contested mark is best attribute and it will be good to watch should he play on Ben Brown. Adams has also been used as a target up forward so who knows what crazy Luke Beveridge will do on Saturday night.

Hayden Crozier: I know we spoke about him on the pod but it’s too hard to ignore. In just 39% of teams this guy will score you points.

With Matt Suckling out with his achilles injury, Crozier has taken over his job as the designated kicker and sweeper in the back line. Add to the fact that the Dogs have lots of injuries to their mids, the ball should be coming into the defence a hell of a lot on Saturday night so expect Crozier to continue scoring well
