No eye test, no gut feel, just pure data. To qualify a player must be born in the years 2000, 1999 and 1998 and therefore coming from the last three drafts, with the oldest player heading into this fourth season.
The data collects, career average, career games, season average, number of tons scored, number of 120 plus scores, and considers playing position, potential growth and age. One of the main calculations is tons per games so a player must have scored 100 AFL Fantasy points in a game to qualify, showing that they do have a ceiling. As all Fantasy coaches want players in their team that can on their day score a ton.
Noting that the data will provide a few surprises and a few players that some may say should make the list: But this is simply what the data tells us.
What the data can’t control is potential positional changes and or lack of opportunities in the future within the clubs best 22.
