Each week we’ll look at captain options outside the big boys as there is only one Brodie Grundy in each league.  So, we are going to look at the underbelly of the weekly contests that hopefully can unearth some unique skipper options, including those in the loop hole games.  Yes some will be risky but that could be the difference of you getting your league win and stay in the hunt for finals action this year.

Captain Loophole

Will be a fantastic game and plenty of interest on the fantasy side as well.  Danger, Kelly, Duncan are the best option for the Cats and don’t forget Stanley might have a day out against the Tigers ruck department as well.  While of course, it’s Dusty who is back in form for the Tigers.

Remember if you are playing the byes take any option as your loophole vice-captain and your options for the big C will be reduced, maybe even lower to VC point line as well.

Best unique skipper options from this week remaining clashes:

Carlton v Brisbane

Gun: Lachie Neale: Has had a quiet month, although it is fair to say he has a big chance to bounce back against the Blues as Zorko may have that tag moving to him. Note: we are unsure how the new coach will role out.

Captain Risky:  Patrick Cripps.  He has been closed down a couple of times in the last month, this should always be a warning as it has been working.  Against him and the team.

Unfortunately for owners, Clamps will continue to come for Cripps as the season goes on.

Gold Coast v North Melbourne

Gun: Jarrod Witts:  Such an impressive season and should continue his good form, Goldy not the easiest to score against but Witts knows how to build a score.

Captain Risky: Shaun Higgins: Mids have scored well against the Suns but they are starting to tag and he is the one most likely to receive the attention.

Adelaide v GWS

Gun:  Josh Kelly: Each week we know one of their guns will go big, I just can’t see the Crows being able to keep up with his pace so Ellis-Yolmen will go to Cogs you would think.

Captain Risky:  The Crow midfielder that sees the tag: GWS are the team to most worry about with the tag, the problem is who gets it.  Sloane will if he plays — but if out, M Crouch or even Brad Crouch.  Oh boy it will hurt owners either way.  Try to look at other captain options.

When your best mid comes up against GWS, it is the only solution.

Sydney v West Coast

Gun:  Andrew Gaff:  Don’t ask me why I keep avoiding him, but I just do.  It’s like talking to Cam, you know you should, but it just seems wrong.  Note:  Ryan Clarke may go to him, if he can keep up.

Captain Risky: Luke Parker: Impressive last month but we know he can post some disappointing scores.  Not quite the fantasy star I thought he was going to be, just a gun player though.

Collingwood v Melbourne

Gun:  Scott Pendlebury:  Avoiding the rucks, Two Melbourne Rucks in squad and ankle concern for Brodie (sounds like round 1) impressive season so far for Pendles with teams mainly just taking him on, attention should continue to go to Sidey.

Captain Risky:  Angus Brayshaw:  Although not a massive score last week, he did get back into the CBA count.  Although Jones was at half back with Salem out.  Watch carefully we may get an indication for what will happen in the second half of the season.
