Each week we will look at captain options outside the big boys as there is only one Brodie Grundy in each league.  So, we are going to look at the underbelly of the weekly contests that hopefully can unearth some unique skipper options, including those in the loop hole games.  Some will be risky but that could be the difference of you getting your league win and stay in the hunt for finals action this year.

Captain Loophole

For most of this season we will have a double chance for the loophole captain, therefore every single team should have genuine captain option, if you are smart to should be able to gain a win or two this season by using your vice-captain and bench loopholes.  Use your waivers and gain the edge.

Couple of big outs in the loophole options but Steele plenty of options for most coaches.  Of course, Brodie Grundy owners will be happy, but they are every week.  Docherty, Cripps, Ross, Steele, Billings, Marshall, Adams, Pendles, Crisp, McGrath and Shiel are all worthy of wearing your VC badge.

Best unique skipper options from this week remaining clashes:

West Coast Eagles v Sydney

Gun: Luke Parker:   Has had a stellar start to the season and the Eagles are giving up plenty of points to midfielders.

Captain Risky:  Andrew Gaff: Although he is right on top of the season leader board, he and many other midfielders really struggle to score against the swans.  There is a benefit for not being on the SCG but unsure if that will help against the pressure he will get.

Geelong v Gold Coast

Gun: Patrick Dangerfield: Slow start to the season but started to hit some form last week and I think it is time for the star to shine.

Captain Risky: Matt Rowell: Wecould not be more impressed with this rookie, but this week he is set for his biggest test.  A top team and a coach that is keen to kerb his influence, will be interesting to see how he goes with the tag.

Western Bulldogs v North Melbourne

Gun:  Todd Goldstein:  Everyone was impressed with Tim English last week, but it did not stop Naismith scoring close to a BCV ton. Goldy will take every opportunity to score big for his owners this week.

Captain Risky: Caleb Daniel: Although North Melbourne have been restricting their opposition scoring they have allowed some decent scores to rebounding defenders, enter Mr Daniel.  It’s a punt.

Brisbane v Port Adelaide

Gun: Lachie Neale:  Can’t go past the best scorer for the season in this game, best corona ball player by far.

Captain Risky: Brad Ebert: Rarely to we consider forwards to take as our captain but his form is just too hard to ignore if you don’t have another realistic option.

Adelaide Crows v Fremantle

Gun:  Michael Walters: Without Fyfe this star will take a greater role in the midfield and his scoring should lift with the role.  Could get some attention but he will work through that issue.

Captain Risky: Matt Crouch: Teams not selected yet but expecting Matt back and would expect him ready to prove a point and score well.

Melbourne v Richmond

Gun:  Max Gawn: Anytime he plays he is going to make the skippers list.  Credit to Nank he stitched up Marshall last week but can’t see him doing the same to Max.

Captain Risky: Dusty: Has not really done what we expected so far, but he is a star so be ready for a big game soon and I think we are all expecting Richmond to fire soon.

GWS v Hawthorn

Gun:  Tom Mitchell:  To be honest, this is just a hopeful selection. Let us hope he is back to his real fantasy footy best soon.

Captain Risky: Cogs: Hurt his owners last week and although very risky, I am tipping that he bounces back this week against the Hawks.

Good luck in your leagues this week, unless you are playing me!
